Anita Lerche Uddannet på Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, London (2001).

The Times of India skriver: "...Anita has also rendered traditional Heer in the album and succeeded in imbuing the depth, pain and passion of the rich composition. In fact, going by her style and pronunciation, one would get the impression that she is a Punjabi only to discover that she is a white."

Anita udgav desuden solo albummet I Love A Piano i 2005 på eget pladeselskab, Angel Music.

> SHORT INTERVIEW WITH ANITA LERCHE:

Anita Lerche found it a wonderful experience performing at the Internationalt Hus with her band and she thinks the audience was so fantastic which made that night unforgettable to her! Anita sings in fourteen languages and understands every word that she is singing. This interest in different languages derives from her curiosity about other cultures. She has travelled a lot and to honour the country she goes to, she sings some of their music in their language. She builds a connection with her audience by singing in their language. Nevertheless, she is convinced that music has no one specific and is a language in itself that speaks directly to the heart of all people.

Anita also sings different music styles and does there is not one particular style that defines her singing. In the past she has had a lot of training in singing different music styles which made her voice very versatile and has allowed her to easily adapt to new genres. In the future she would like to develop her own music style which most likely will be a blend of Indian and Western music. This mixture might be the result of her musical inspirations. As a child she listened a lot to Abba, the Beatles and later she was into Whitney Houston and George Michael. In regards to Indian music, she is very inspired by the Punjabi artists Gurdas Mann and Surinder Kaur.

Anita is not touring at the moment, but is in the midst of working on her new Punjabi album along as well as recording a Punjabi Charity song for a project in UK. In January she spent a couple of weeks in Mumbai filming with a Danish television crew. On May 8th at 8pm the show will be broadcasted on DR2 as a part of a theme ´Saturday about Bollywood´. So you should all watch this to learn about her experiences in Mumbai! Furthermore, Anita would love to perform in Canada and Australia. As a matter of fact, she is now receiving a lot of interests from the Punjabi community in Canada, so hopefully she will perform there soon!
