Matteite / Venus Records is proud to pioneer the debut release
from New York City Avant-Electro-Pop artist Honeychild
Coleman.

Coleman has garnered comparisons to Bjork , Miriam Makeba
(Greg Tate, VIBE), Kate Bush and Sarah Vaughn (Teresa Wiltz,
The Washington Post). Subway busking, and weekly sets with
DJs Olive (we™ /Liminal), Sasha Crnobrnja (Organic Grooves),
Lloop (we™), Delmar (Jungle Sky), Fred Ones (Mike Ladd/Sonic
Sum) and Badawi (Raz Mesinai) and contributed to the unique
niche that Coleman created within the underground electronic
scene of the mid-90's.

Her club-to-studio path led to recording with we™ (whose set
she gate-crashed at Le Fin de Siecle Festival in Nantes,
France), Badawi, Sasha Crnobrnja (Codek), Spectre (whose film
"Crooked" she appears in), Greg Tate's Burnt Sugar Arkestra
(electric dulcimer), Shiner Massive Soundsystem, Death Comet
Crew (feat. Rammellzee), Apollo Heights (vocals on TVOTR's
Dave Sitek's remix of "Disco Lights" and their cover of House of
Love's "Christine"), and Italian electronic group HERE: Jim
"Phylr" Coleman(Cop Shot Cop), M.Teho Teardo (Matera /
Meathead) and Matteo Dainese (DEJLIGT/ Jitterbugs /Meathead
/ Ulan Bator), with whom she toured Italy three times.

From 1998 onward Honeychild has also balanced fronting her
own alt-rock band (singing/writing/playing guitar), organizing
"riott" shows with fellow Sistagrrls & "Afropunk" documentary
artists (Simi / Suffrajett, Maya Goddess,Tamar-kali) all over
NYC's East Village (3 Riotts at CBGB's, R.I.P.), opening for Cibo
Matto, Rasputina, Radio 4, Mike Ladd, Sarah Dougher, Beans,
Imani Coppola and TV on The Radio, releasing CDs on her
bedroom label 8RM Records Brooklyn (USA), playing and touring
(2nd guitar) with Apollo Heights (US / UK / Europe) and
spinning records as DJ Sugarfree.

Solo experimental sets at DJ Olive and Toshio K's
Pheno_mena(Tonic) led to performances at Sin-e, Rooftop
Films, and SHARE, a D.I.Y. tour of Europe at the Wooshi-
Wooshi and Cable Records festivals (Barcelona), The
OskarvonMillerStrasse Gallery/Performance space (Frankfurt)
and ultimately opening for Peaches at the CO-OP Club (Berlin)
before returning home to DJ at the 2003 AIM 23 Opening at the
Bronx Museum. Subject of music documentary "Fireflies"
(Austria), Coleman's compositions also appear in Robin Wright
Penn's "Sorry Haters " (IFC), award-winning indie short "P.R"
(Greece/UK), art quarterly ESOPUS 7 (USA), and the Black Rock
Coalition's "Rock'n'Roll Reparations" CD.

With over a decade of professional session recording and
touring under her belt, Coleman invited a few friends to sit in
on her premiere full-length solo release, which was recorded
with Italian producer Max Stirner between her Brooklyn
apartment, touring around France and Ferrara, Italy. This
magical guest line-up includes MC NatureBoy Jim Kelly™ (New
Kingdom / Morcheeba), DJ Olive (Gregor Asch of we™), The
Mad Professor, Matteo Dainese (Ulan Bator / HERE) and Robin
Guthrie (The Cocteau Twins). A few previously released gems
by Molecule (France), Gracefully and I DUB NY (featuring
legendary reggae producer Lloyd 'Bullwackie' Barnes) found
their way to the album as well, rounding out the story that is
Halo Inside (Come la Luna). The album drops in Europe in
January 2008, and on iTunes in February 2009, followed by a
European Tour through March 2009.

Title: Questa è una parentesi: )

Matteite Records Presents: Questa è una parentesi: ), the
debut album of Il Moro e il Quasi Biondo.Il Moro e il Quasi
Biondo is a group formed by Lorenzo Commisso, Roberto

AKA Paul Hammond (Arbeiter) and H.C. Rebel (ex-Amari and

Quasi Biondo" could be the title of a movie that combines
guns, lions, bowling shoes, golf shoes, tap shoes, and both
desert and tropical landscapes, on wallpaper. A movie with a
happy end, but before and after the end everything can
happen.Questa è una parentesi: ) is an album of electronic
music that escapes the grid, with the help of many acoustic
instruments. It's a sunny album, despite some audio storming.
In fact, the itself is smiling.Every title track is a clue to a
hypothetical crossword puzzle, each with an answer, existing
inside. Il Moro e il Quasi Biondo's live act includes: Lorenzo
Commisso (laptop, guitar, voice), Roberto D'Agostin (guitar,
clarinet, percussion), Matteo Dainese (drums) and Mario
Ruggiero (video).
